Organic Mineral Complex:
Organic Mineral Complex offers a natural source of more than 80 essential trace and macro minerals for everyday supplementation. Aquamin is a red algae-derived mineral source sustainably harvested off the west coast of Ireland. The broad range of organic naturally present minerals within this formulation help fill the nutritional void caused by a lack of macro and trace minerals often found within the typical western diet. Organic Mineral Complex capsules can be supplemented as part of the Viridian Organic Weight Management Plan.
ORGANIC NETTLE LEAF (Urtica dioica) – Nettle is well known for being a valuable source of minerals particularly iron, calcium and silica. Nettle also contains flavonoid glycosides, sterols, chlorophyll, carotenoids, vitamins (B, C and K), phenolic acids, along with histamine, serotonin and acetylcholine. Nettle leaf has been shown to decrease inflammation and assist with eliminative functions. Nettle was traditionally considered to be a blood purifier, a styptic (helps stop bleeding), stimulating tonic, and as a diuretic.
ORGANIC HORSETAIL (Equisetum arvense) – Horsetail is a good source of trace minerals, particularly silica (5-7.7%), and its traditional uses include helping treat brittle fingernails, loss of hair, and helping heal connective tissue. Horsetail has a mild diuretic, astringent, and anti-inflammatory effect.
ORGANIC SEAGREENS® (Wild Wrack Seaweed) – this seaweed is also known as Ascophyllum nodosum. Seaweeds draw from the sea an incomparable wealth of macro-elements and trace elements. The mineral fraction of some seaweeds accounts for up to 36% of dry matter. The brown seaweeds have traditionally been used for treating thyroid goitre (hypothyroidism). Kelp is a rich source of oceanic nutrients, many of which can be lacking in modern diets and hence cause cravings and appetite dysregulation. Through improved nutritional status and the beneficial effects of iodine rich kelp on thyroid function, healthy weight can be achieved.
Wild Harvested AQUAMIN® (Lithothamnium calcareum) – Aquamin, is a multi-mineral supplement, sustainably derived from the red algae Lithothamnion calcareum which is rich in calcium and magnesium and 74 trace minerals including manganese, selenium and zinc, assimilated from sea water. Aquamin has shown clinical efficacy in aiding bone health, osteoarthritis. Joint health – clinical data reveals that Aquamin shows positive results in alleviating symptoms of osteoarthritis when compared to glucosamine sulphate or placebo. Results suggest significant improvements in joint mobility, pain, stiffness, and in walking distances in those taking Aquamin. Anti-inflammatory – Aquamin has been shown to decrease inflammatory cytokines specifically Tumour Necrosis Factor (TNF)-alpha and Interleukin (IL)1beta. Exercise – Aquamin supports calcium homeostasis and bone markers during acute exercise. Aquamin at a dose of 1000mg taken before exercise significantly attenuated the increase in parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels, effectively protecting against calcium leaching from the bone.
Dosage: One to three capsules daily with food, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
